Algorithmen ordnen unsere Welt – das Herz widerspricht?

Gefühle sind Bugs, Verletzlichkeit eine Schwachstelle im System, Liebe nur noch ein störender Glitch im Programm. In einer Welt durchzogen von Technologien sind unsere Körper formbar und optimierbar geworden. Alles lädt, nichts kommt zum Ende.

Auf der Bühne wird ein Mensch zerlegt, repariert und neu verkabelt. Er befindet sich in einer ständigen Korrektur. Aber da sitzt auch ein tiefer Schmerz im Körper und widersetzt sich jedem Update. Während nach und nach digitale Avatare die Kontrolle übernehmen und Systeme die Wirklichkeit schreiben, versprechen sie Perfektion. Doch nach jeder Verbesserung meldet sich das Herz. Das letzte Bruchstück des Menschseins. Es wird lauter. Bis auch das ersetzt wird.

«still loading» von Maria Milisavljević zeichnet eine Figur, die versucht, mit dieser Welt Schritt zu halten – und daran zerbricht. Der Abend spricht über die Spannung zwischen technologischer Perfektion und dem Widerstand des Lebens. Es ist ein Science-Fiction-Spektakel und zugleich eine emotionale Erfahrung: ein Hightech-Solo zwischen Wut, bitterem Humor und grosser Zärtlichkeit zum eigenen Dasein, wenn zwischen Mensch und Maschine eine leise Dissoziation entsteht. Doch dann passiert er, der Systemabsturz.

In «still loading» wird nicht danach gefragt, wie wir die Zukunft gestalten wollen, sondern was sie mit uns macht. Was bleibt vom Mensch, wenn alles ersetzbar wird? Wie wirken sich Augmented Bodies, Brain Interfaces und bionische Implantate auf unser Leben aus? Und was passiert, wenn wir einfach stehen bleiben?

Am 8. & 29. März um 15:30 Uhr, sowie am 31. März um 19:30 Uhr findet eine Stück-Einführung mit Dramaturgin Kristina Malyseva statt. Eintritt frei.

Nach der Vorstellung vom 29. März diskutieren Regisseur Julián Ignacio Garcés und die Schauspielerin Sofia Borsani zusammen mit der Neurowissenschaftlerin Prof. Dr. Emily Cross vom Social Brain Sciences Lab der ETH Zürich. Eintritt frei.

Die Vorstellungen vom 29. & 31. März werden mit Englischen Übertiteln angeboten.

Algorithms organize our world - does the heart disagree?

Emotions, vulnerability, love are reclassified as program malfunctions. In a world permeated by technology, our bodies have become malleable and optimizable. Everything is loading, there is no end to the upgrades in sight.

On stage, a human being is dismantled, fixed and rewired. They are in a constant state of repair. But there is a deep pain, too, that resists every update. Digital avatars are taking over, reality is reconstituted by systems that promise perfection. Yet, after every improvement, the heart sends notice. The last fragment of humanity. It gets louder. Until it is replaced as well.

«still loading» by Maria Milisavljević paints a character who tries to keep up with this world -- and breaks down in the process. It explores the tension between technological perfection and life‘s resistance. It is both science fiction and emotional experience: a high-tech solo performance between anger, dark humor, and great tenderness towards one‘s own existence, initiated by small dissociations in the human-machine relationship. System failure is imminent.

«still loading» does not consider which future we want to create, but what this future does to us. What remains of humanity when everything becomes replaceable? How do augmented bodies, brain interfaces, and bionicimplants affect our lives? And what happens if we just decide to skip this update?

On March 8 and 29 at 3:30 p.m., and on March 31 at 7:30 p.m., dramaturge Kristina Malyseva will give an introduction to the play. Admission is free.

Following the performance on March 29, director Julián Ignacio Garcés and actress Sofia Borsani will engage in a discussion with neuroscientist Prof. Dr. Emily Cross from the Social Brain Sciences Lab at ETH Zurich. Admission is free.
